17-1

I know this is rather late but come on 17-1 how awesome was that. The yanks have gone into a free fall since than and I can only hope it continues. The sox haven't been playing all that great but not all that bad either with the last two games against the cards not withstanding. I got to see my first grand slam on memorial day against the the O's unfortunately the O's where the ones to hit it.

25-20

It's been a very long time since I updated. I've been busy getting ready to be married in 9 days. The sox are in second place in the AL East and not playing well at all. Schilling is still on the DL (an will be for the foreseeable future). David Wells is AWFUL. Arroyo lost last night for the first time since last August and we are on the verge of being swept by the Jays. If we loss tonight we'll go into the Yankees series this weekend in 4th place. Speaking of the Yankees the last time I updated they where a mess and about 9 games out all they have done since than is won 14 of 16 games. Hopefully this update will turn thing around. We'll have a good Sox crowd this weekend down it CT for the Labor Day weekend. Hopefully the Sox can take at least 2 of 3 in Yankee Stadium this weekend.

13-11

Did not watch any Sox baseball this weekend except from the score boards at RFK stadium and Camden yard. We where in DC and Balt to catch some out of town baseball. The sox dropped the first game of a three game series with Texas on Friday night but where able to win the next two. Foulke made it scary again on Sunday giving up a two run home run to make a 6-3 win a 6-5 one.

Arroyo, Nixon, and Francona all got suspension for their part in the Tampa bay brawl last weekend. Arroyo got 6 games, Francona 3 and Nixon 2. David Ortiz also got fined.

The O's are on a tare and have won 8 in a row. The sox are 4 games out tied with Toronto for second in the AL East. The Yanks are 7.5 back and finished the month of April under .500 for the first time in a long time.

On a good note. Kevin Youkilis was recalled Saturday and had a nice game at third base.

11-10

Vs Balt
4-26-05
Fenway Park, Boston

A disaster game. Sox blow hug leads twice and can not put the O's away. Clement looked very off and was made when Tito took him out with 2 outs in the 5th making him not eligible for a win. Embre sort of made that a mute point giving up a two run double to bring the O's back to with in one. Foulke looks real shaky giving up a pair of two run home runs in the 8th to loss the game. Manny had a line drive home run into the monster seats.

11-9

I've been lazy with the updates. I wasn't able to watch the games last weekend because we where in Cortland doing Wedding stuff. The road trip to TB was interesting, full of hit batsmen and brawls and monstrous homeruns. Unfortunately the Sox lost 2 out of 3. Yesterday Wells got beat around again and gave up his 6 runs. He had to leave the game with a sprained ankle. Hopefully the Sox can pull it together and win tonight and inch closer to knocking the O's from the top spot in the AL East. At least the Yankees are playing poorly.

9-6

Vs. Bal
4-20-2005
Camden Yard, Baltimore, MD

Wells is unhittable for 8 innings. Gives up a total of 3 hits. Varitek hits a big 3 run homerun to stake the Sox to a 4-0 lead and they never looked back. The Sox scored their first run on a bases loaded baulk by Bruce Chen in the 5th. Nice win over a team that gives the Sox some problem.

8-6

Vs. Toronto
4-10-2005
Fenway Park, Boston

It seemed like the Sox where in control of this one when David Ortiz hit a two run mammoth shot of Holliday to take a 3-1 lead. However Veron Wells had a two run shot off Embree to tie things back up. Foulke came on in the top of the ninth to try and preserve the tie but gave up a RBI single to Koskie who hurt the sox all night. The battor before Hillenbrand singled but Payton threw out Reed Johnson at the plate on a nice blocking play by Varitek. Tough loss.
