July 4th Weekend in Manitou Springs

We had a lovely time in Manitou Springs this weekend and pictures should be up soon. She enjoyed playing with the giraffe's at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and was startled by a swimming bear right in her face! :) It was fun to be in a little cabin and she liked investigating all the surroundings, drawers, cabinets, etc. She also liked standing up in her pack and play staring at us first thing in the morning.....who am I kidding....I loved that as well. :)

Steamboat Trip Over Memorial Day

Abbey and I headed up to Steamboat for the Memorial day weekend. This was sort of a anniversary trip, memorial day trip and babymoon all wrapped into one. We stayed at the Sheraton Steamboat which is right at the base of the mountain and our room had a balcony that over looked the ski area. Abbey had never been to the Boat before so we just sort of walked around and had some dinner. The drive up and back was very pretty and we say a ton of animals this weekend. Big horn sheep, Antelope, a fox, some elk, a lone female moose, and the high lite was a black bear sighting just east of Waldon on the way home. Check out the pictures on the left.

Mom and Grandma's Trip to Colorado

Mom and Bunny flew to Colorado for Abbey and my baby shower. This was the first time since my graduation that either of them had been back to Colorado. We spent the weekend mostly in the mountains and doing yard work and landscaping at the house. Friday was spent up at Abbey’s parent’s ranch in the mountains. Very relaxing and my mom was amazed by the beauty. Saturday we spent the morning in Estes Park and than the afternoon was spent hauling dirt back from the landscaping supply plant and planting a lot of bushes and trees. Sunday was the baby shower for Abbey . It was hard to say good bye but mom will be back in August to help us out with little baby Keeney

Wow over a year has passed between posts. One I;m lazy and two we have had a very hectic year. As most of you know we are now in Colorado and have just started having a house built for us. Check out the pictures from the home page as the house goes up. We are all doing good no kids yet but maybe soon. We are very excited about moving into our new house and can't wait till Nov. when it is done. I have started a new job at a biotech company in Boulder and Abbey is still working for north rang health. I need to get some pictures up of the last year and will be working on that soon.

Wedding

And now for the main event. Saturday morning the guys in the wedding party got together and headed to Zebbs for a pre-wedding lunch. We made the new guys (Gampp, Rick, & Nate) do Batmans which is a very odd tradition that we came up with when we were like 13. It's basically a shot of vanilla coke and tobacco sauce. They really are nasty.

The wedding was at hope lake at 4:30 the weather was perfect and everyone look great. I was very emotional as I watched Abbey walk down the isle it was a very special moment and I couldn't wait for her to reach me. The Luxs prepared a wonderful ceremony and Christine cried a lot but it was very special. Pictures turned out real well as the sun was perfect and the background was so green and plush. We have about 1000 pictures and it's going to take a very long time to sort through them all.

The set up a Jeramia's was beautiful and the food was very tasty. We did get to enjoy the food for a bit but did do our oblitory chats with everyone. The cup cake tree was beautiful even though we thought there was going to be more colors other than just white. Shiff, Gampp, and Laura gave very nice speeches and our first dance was lovely even though I know I have no rhythm.

The Coors light keg was never ending and the wine last a very long time. Everyone got a bit saucy with Erin taking the cake for most sauced. The Colorado boys and girls had a great rendition of YMCA which was entertaining to all. I feel like everyone had a great time at the reception and Abbey and I are very grateful that everyone was able to come.

The Brunch the next day at the golden skillet was a nice time for Abbey and I to see everyone one last time before heading back to Boston to start our married lives and to get a little rest. Poor Erin could not really enjoy the breakfast as she was not felling all that great. Actually there were quite a few people that were under the weather that morning.

Wine Tour and pre-wedding Stuff

Again I have fallen behind on updating this thing and keeping you all informed. What can I say I just got married and spent 12 days on the beach and in the sun in Aruba.

So lets continue. After the Sox game Abbey and I had to work for two days before heading for Cortland and our nuptials. Wednesday night we finally got to Cortland and prepared ourselves for the Wine tour the next morning. Before the Wine tour Abbey and I went to the Virgil town hall to get our marriage license. The "party" bus arrived at 10:30 and we were off to the finger lake wineries. On the way up we watched a little bit of Napoleon dynamite. Our first stop was Lucas winery we were not there to long and headed over to Sheldrake Point. We had packed a lunch for everyone and eat under the tent were Lindsay and Dan's reception was held. Coulter and Whit bought a bottle and the real drinking was on. Next stop was Knapp were the owner pretty much poured us anything we wanted and the road to drunkenness was opened. The next two stops Goose Watch Winery and Swedish Hill was pretty much a blur. We did have a lot of champange between the two. Also Doobie Blues wine in the big bottle is always a good idea. We had two of these on the way down to Ithaca. The kareoke started and was in full force by the time we convinced our driver to stop at Wegmans in Ithaca so that everyone could pick up beer to take back to the condos. We returned safe but I think that the Aunts were rethinking their decision about going on the tour. We were a bit out of control.

After the wine tour the Keeneys and the Georges all got together and went to dinner at Jeramia's where we got to see the set up for the reception.

Friday afternoon we ran through the rehearsal up at hope late and ironed out the details of how we were going to do the ceremony the next day. Bunny and I got in a bit of an argument but over all it went smoothly. We all headed to my parents house were Mom had whipped up a feast. Food and homebrew was enjoyed by all.

Next installment will finally be the wedding and again pictures will be up we they all have been sorted through.

Memorial Day Weekend

Well there is a lot to catch up on so I thought I'd start with the memorial day weekend events. Abbey and her girls went up to Stowe for the three day weekend to celebrate her baccalaureate party. They claim to have had a great time though I hear that Saturday night was rough and my future wife had to be dragged out of the hot tub. I think some new long term friendships where formed in the hills of Vermont.

As for the guys 6 of us went down to Old Saybrook for some golf, a lot of beer, and baseball. The weather held out great and fun was had by all. I think Jon was a little surprised at first but became a integral part of the group by the end of the weekend. Coulter as usual was the comedy high light of the weekend. We love you man. I needed a vacation from my vacation and the two days of detox before the wedding was very much needed.

Monday night 15 of us took in the Sox game at Fenway. The weather wasn't suppose to be that great but held out and we had a very nice night out in the bleachers. The Sox got smoked, though I did get to see my first grand slam which was sort of weird since I was talking Sunday night about how I had never seen one live. Unfortunately it was for the wrong team.

I had fun carting the Aunts into Boston each morning and I think they had a wonderful time in MA. I think they maybe rethinking the whole wine tour though but more on that later.

Pictures will be up when I get everyone and can pick the best ones.
